About Us
We are a family focused and church orientated couple. We are mostly home-bodies, but don't let that mistake you for our sense of adventure too!
We have two cats, Bailey and Lilly and a brood of silly chickens. We love camping, playing music and debating on if we love sunsets or sunrises more.
We met in 2007 in Alaska when Kelly was a brand new flight attendant. Robert had already been a flight attendant for 5 years and Kelly did not have it in her adventurous spirit to spend time with Robert but he was persistent. In 2009 Kelly said yes to dating instead of just being friends.
Fast forward through many adventures (Alaska, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Hawaii) and on September 6th, 2014 we got married in Washington state at our local beach park. We have made this sleepy little marina town our home ever since.
We are looking forward to growing our family through any of the following adoption opportunities:

Robert's TESTIMONY
I came to Christ at an early age. At the age of 5 I walked down the aisle at our church and got baptized the following week. I remember this vividly and have been secure in my salvation ever since.
I grew up in a Chrisian home. My mother came to Christ around the time my third sibling was born. After that she brought her mom to Christ and our family started attending church and being involved regularly ever since. My mom retired from being a Sunday school teacher at the age of 80 years old and she still attends church to this day a teaches her grandkids and great grandkids about the Lord. My father always encouraged me to attend church and read the bible.
At an early age I began to read a children's Bible and learned how to study scripture and was involved in Bible drill competitions throughout grade school and in middle school took bible discipleship courses. Throughout my years growing up I went to Vacation Bible schools and Bible camps each year. In high school I was the president of the youth group at the church our family attended. Upon graduation from high school I moved to California to attend college and got two degrees in Business where I learned how to conduct Christ-centered business.
Fast forward about 30 years and I found a church to call my family along with my wife Kelly. We got married in September of 2014 and our pastor flew down from Alaska to join Kelly and I in marriage. The blessing Kermit gave us was amazing and it was special as he married my oldest sister and her husband 20 years before us, and he married my younger sister and her husband 10 years before us. It is a treat for us to visit family in Alaska on a weekend and to attend his church on Sundays.
Kelly's TESTIMONY
I came to know and receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior only five years ago. I grew up with a sense of God, but no solid teaching. Looking back, I can see how the Lord was leading me to Himself all along. Meeting and marrying Robert was a big part of His plan!
Before Christ, I lived like much of the world I suppose. I valued money, fame, recognition and I overworked myself. I didn't want a family of my own for a long time. I was scared and selfish and wanted my career to come before kids.
But after encountering the Lord and His Holy Spirit, my desires completely changed. I wanted to raise a family for His glory. But after many years and attempts and trips to the doctors, we just couldn't concieve. We took this as a sign that the Lord wants us to build our family through adoption. Honestly, it wasn't even on my radar before. But I feel blessed that when I expressed that to Robert, he was too eager to start the process!
I dedicate my life to walking with Christ as close as possible. I study scripture daily, pray, attend church...ok, all good things. But above all that I try to eradicate sin in my life as soon as it's exposed. It's been a long road, and there's still more to go, but the Lord is good and faithful.
My life and heart look so much different than they did just five years ago and there's no one else I can credit than our great and awesome God.
Letter to you

We are very involved with our local church, (Des Moines Gospel Chapel, or DMGC), which is only a five-minute drive from our house. Our pastor's name is Jesse and he is married with 4 children. We have a vibrant kid and youth ministry. Robert serves on the security team and wherever else he is called to! He also helps organize the monthly Men's Breakfast and is always on call to help. Kelly serves on the worship team as a vocalist and also serves in the nursery. Twice a month she hosts a small women's group that teaches biblical womanhood out of their home. Together we also host a bi-monthly group with another church couple that meets in our home to discuss the previous week's sermon. Both groups are growing, praise God! We enjoy great friendships with our congregation and get together regularly with them over meals.
Vision For Raising A Child
Our will is to raise however many children God chooses to give us with love, nurture and a biblical upbringing. We believe the choice to follow Christ is just that, a choice, so we will not force or manipulate our children into believing. But we do envision a life that is centered on Him. We want our children to be raised in a stable, peaceful and joyful home. Our extended families, church and church family are very important to us, so we will include the children in the activities there and encourage good relationships with others. In the home, we will establish unity and continuity through regular mealtimes, fun times, games, worship and teaching about God and Jesus through books and play (I'm a children's book illustrator and Robert is super goofy, so this should be right up our alley!). We're also very outdoorsy, so regular visits to parks, farms, lakes and hiking are definitely on the agenda! We will seek to expose our children to His Truth regularly but not shelter them to the point where they are isolated from the world. We will strive to instill discernment and compassion in them for others and discipline them in love. Above all we will be in constant prayer for our children and love them no matter what they choose to believe or how they choose to live their lives as adults.
ABOUT Robert
Hi, Robert here! I was born and raised in a tiny rainforest town in Alaska with fishing, hunting, hiking, boating, skiing (favorite!), eagles, bears, and tourist activities. However, I might be the only Alaskan who doesn't like eating fish! I grew up with four siblings and a loving mom and dad. With good friends I regularly attended church, Vacation Bible School, bible camp and weekly youth group activities.
EXTENDED FAMILY
Robert is one of five siblings and a loving mom and dad. Most of his family live in Alaska. He has many nieces and nephews and he's close to them all. He's especially close to his siblings and parents. We see them on a regular basis, and he keeps in touch weekly (sometimes daily!). They're a lot of fun, always joking around. They're also very kind and helpful towards one another, a very strong support group.
WORK & EDUCATION
I went to college in California and graduated with a Masters in Business Administration. I moved back to Alaska in 2002 and have been a flight attendant ever since!
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
I enjoy working out in our weight room and I love acting. I have written, produced and acted in several films and TV shows over the years. I even have my own production company that makes short films.
I really enjoy fishing, hunting, and tending to our small backyard farm and being helpful wherever I can. My family is an important part of my life and I love spending time and helping my mom, dad, siblings and nieces and nephews.
ABOUT Kelly
Hi, Kelly here! I was born and raised in Washington state. My mother was a flight attendant so from a young age I was exposed to different cultures and languages. My favorite childhood memories are of my dad reading to me at bedtime and family travels to Europe! I have a BA in English and German. I enjoyed living in Germany as a young adult, becoming fluent in the language.
EXTENDED FAMILY
Kelly has two older brothers and a loving mom and dad. Kelly has three nieces and a nephew from her brother Scott. We spend a lot of time with this side of the family since we live so close to each other. We enjoy a great relationship with them! Not only are they family, but they are also good friends. Scott and his family have a flower farm with chickens and sheep. We go out to help them often and have fun on the farm.
WORK & EDUCATION
I became a flight attendant in 2007 and moved to Alaska where I met and fell in love with Robert. I enjoy writing, gardening, travelling, hiking, cooking, art and illustrating children's books. I even wrote a famous cartoon strip about being a flight attendant for a while!
In 2019 I became a Christian and felt God's call to do other things. These days I enjoy being a full-time home maker, having friends and family over for dinner or overnight and volunteering in our local church. I enjoy gardening, music, outdoor activities and researching nutrition.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS
I love the Lord Jesus and spend a good portion of my day with Him. During the day you'll find me busy in my home, the garden or with my mom, nieces or friends visiting a local garden. There is always something cooking, baking, fermenting or sautéing in my kitchen, as I love to prepare our meals from scratch. I grow a lot of our food in our garden and have a deep love for flowers and herbs. I also love to sing, play the piano, guitar and violin.
Art is still a big part of my life. I have a small home business illustrating children's books for authors and typically finish about one a year. I also love to teach and disciple. Every other week I host a small women's group on biblical womanhood and godly marriage. Once a week I disciple young women one-on-one in my home then throughout the year I teach classes on sourdough bread, fermenting and canning.
Me with my first published children's book.
Spending time with my best friend's kids.
Reading to my nieces, one of my favorite things!
Worshiping and music are a big part of my life. I love to sing and play music!
My love for gardening really shows in our backyard.
Some friends and family I taught to how to make fermented cabbage.
ABOUT OUR HOME
Our home is a well-built midcentury house in a quiet neighborhood 5 minutes from parks, beaches. We have five bedrooms and three bathrooms with two living rooms, upstairs and downstairs.
We sit atop a hill, facing west, where we enjoy amazing sunsets almost daily. It is wonderfully comfortable and inviting. Guests often mention they don’t sleep better anywhere else. We enjoy updating and improving it regularly. To keep things social and non-distracting, we only have one TV which lives downstairs.
Our backyard is home to a large garden with flowers, vegetables and fruit trees on one side, eight chickens on the other side and a grassy play area in between. With wood burning fireplaces, the table set for guests, fresh flowers throughout the house and warm baked bread in the oven, we are constantly filling our home with peace, joy and love.
