About Us
Hi! We are Adam and Amelia. We appreciate you taking the time to get to know us and considering entrusting us to parent your child. We met each other through friends from church in early 2012 while Adam was living in St. Louis and Amelia was living in Seattle. We had a long distance courtship that led to marriage at the end of 2012. We both desired to have children with birth and adoptive children always being part of the discussions for growing our family. We began pursuing both adoption and biological children simultaneously while trusting God to provide children as he saw fit. We were blessed to have our daughter, Penelope, become a part of our family in 2023, which put a brief pause on the adoption process while we adjusted to caring for a little one. We are praying and trusting God to continue to grow our family through adoption. We desire to have multiple siblings for Penelope, and our hope is for them to join our family through adoption.
We seek to foster a home environment that encourages exploration and inquisitiveness. We like to go for walks as a family, play at the nearby park, visit with neighbors, and work in the garden. We enjoy being silly and laughing together. We all like to read, and there are lots of books in our house to encourage reading. We also cook together. Penelope loves to help make food with us, so we find ways for her to participate in an age-appropriate way, such as adding the seasonings to a dish or stirring something in a bowl.
We both like board games and look forward to playing them with our children. We have discovered that cooperative games are a good way to play together since it is everyone against the game. Amelia taught Adam how to knit, and it is a hobby we both enjoy. We knit things for family and friends to share our love of knitting with others. Amelia loves to garden and shares that passion with Penelope. We both enjoy cooking. Adam also enjoys baking, which is something he likes to share with family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
As you consider us, know that we value you and want you to have interactions with your child, if that is something you desire. You are important to your child, and we want them to know about you. We are thinking about you and praying for you. We hope to meet you and your child soon.
We are looking forward to growing our family through any of the following adoption opportunities:

Adam's TESTIMONY
I grew up in the Evangelical Lutheran Church, but I didn’t really develop a personal relationship with Jesus until I was 22. My parents announced their divorce a couple days after my college girlfriend broke up with me, and the two events had me questioning a lot of things. I began reading my Bible looking for answers rather than just as something to check-off of a to-do list, and through that reading I grew in my faith. I moved to Saint Louis shortly afterwards and attended an Acts 29 (nondenominational) church where I was baptized. I became actively involved in the church, serving in the youth group and in children's ministry.
Amelia's TESTIMONY
I became a believer in 1999 at the age of 18. I grew up in the church but turned away from anything related to Christianity as a teenager. As much as I was turning away, the Lord was pursuing me more. I kept encountering evidence of God in circumstances, people and the myriad other ways God shows us his grace and love. It came to a head, so to speak, while living with my aunt and uncle who pastor a church. In their home everything was about Jesus. One evening, while listening to an audiobook of scripture, something in my heart clicked and alone in my room I surrendered my heart, my life, my everything to Jesus.
Letter to you

Adam grew up in a Lutheran home and switched to a nondenominational church after college. Amelia grew up in a nondemoninational church. We attend a nondenominational church in Seattle, and we both serve in children's ministry. We attend service regularly, participate in a weekly small group, and attend other church activities such as men's and women's events. We believe reading the Bible and prayer are important. We prayer together as a family every day to start the day, at meals, before bed, and when life events necessitate turning to God in praise or in need. We have multiple children's Bibles to foster biblical teaching at an age-appropriate level.
Vision For Raising A Child
Our goal for all of our children is for them to come to know, love, and serve Jesus, so we prioritize prayer, Bible reading, and discussing Jesus. We want our children to be compassionate and loving members of the community. We desire for them to learn, grow, and develop their own personalities and interests. We will love your child without reservation and look forward to them joining our family. We will love, care, and support him/her throughout his/her life. We want your child to know you and appreciate the choice you made to entrust him/her to our family; you are important, and we will raise your child to recognize your importance.
ABOUT Adam
From Amelia: Adam is an amazing man. He pursues Jesus as his first love and most important relationship. He is a loving, devoted and present husband and father. Adam works hard to provide, care for and lead our family. He is strong, savvy, creative, silly and kind. Adam loves having a family and eagerly hopes to grow it as the Lord leads. Adam is incredibly smart and a natural teacher. He will be a great teacher for all the children in our family. He will teach them everything from making doughnuts and balancing a checkbook to algebra and how to check the air pressure in car tires. Adam loves laughter, Dad jokes and playing games. He is a wonderful father to Penelope and will be to any other kids we are blessed to raise.

We desire to foster creativity in our children whether that is with similar interests or in their own personal pursuits.
Penelope
Penelope is our eldest child. She is inquisitive and loving. Reading books, building towers and "cooking" food for her stuffies are some of her favorite activities. She loves spending time outside exploring, taking walks, helping us in the garden and helping with cooking dinner. Penelope is very social and loves spending time with her cousins. She also loves giving hugs - even giving hugs to the vaccum!
