About Us
Both transplants to South Alabama, we met via Facebook in 2010, after mutual friends suggested getting to know one another, and hit it off immediately! We initially spent hours chatting via messenger until Mark conveniently misplaced his phone during one our conversations and asked Katy to call it–an easy way to get her phone number. Since that time, we have never gone longer than 48 hours without talking, and that was only because Katy was out of the country!
Though born in Tennessee, Mark spent his early years in Alabama before moving to Colorado in elementary school. As an only child, Mark quickly made friends with the neighborhood kids and kids from church–some of these relationships have spanned not only miles, but years! A childhood cancer survivor, Mark, is resilient and determined, qualities that serve him well in his position as a project manager and architect. Mark loves being outside, woodworking, anything sports related (especially the Atlanta Braves and his alma mater, Texas Tech), and making memories!
Born and raised in North Mississippi, Katy is the oldest of three; each of her siblings is the answer to her little girl prayers, and they are two of her best friends and biggest supporters. Married for almost 40 years, Katy’s parents instilled in her a love for God, the value of hard work, and the importance of family, all of which Katy, along with Mark, is working to teach to their own child. A teacher/librarian at a small private school, Katy enjoys reading, baking, crafting, watching girly movies, and traveling!
Our son, Jaxon, was born in the summer of 2018. He is an absolute joy, even in his most stubborn moments, and inspires us each day to be better and do better! Knox was born in the fall of 2023 and placed in our arms by his wonderful birth mother shortly after. The perfect addition to our growing family at just the right time, Knox is hands down Jaxon’s favorite person and the feeling is mutual! Our life can be a little crazy and a little messy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way because it is also absolutely amazing, and we cannot wait to share our life, our love, and our family with a new precious little one!

EXTENDED FAMILY
We are truly blessed with family and friends who love us and are eager to love our newest addition.
Despite living just over three hours away, Katy's parents are a large part of our support system. They love being G and Papi and enjoy taking our boys for long weekends during the school year and for at least a week each summer for grand adventures. Loyal supporters, they never miss an opportunity to cuddle with Knox, attend school programs, duel as pirates, have a water balloon fight, or cheer Jaxon on at a t-ball game. Located about 15 minutes away, Mark's parents enjoy any chance to spend time playing with Jaxon and Knox. Although their health does not allow them to be as actively involved, they are doting grandparents, and we are grateful for their love and support.

EXTENDED FAMILY
Although Katy's siblings and their families live too far away for frequent visits, they adore our boys! As the physical distances have changed and grown over the years, we have quickly come to realize that FaceTime is a wonderful thing! Besides, who doesn't love a good road trip?! One nephew is just a few weeks younger than Jaxon, and they love to wrestle and play whenever they are together. Just as rough and tumble as the boys with sass to spare, our four-year-old niece can hold her own and keeps the boys on their toes whenever they are together. The younger group of cousins, including our two-year-old niece, our nephew who is just a few weeks older than Knox, and Knox are laid back and just go with the flow and whatever excitement and adventures that their older siblings and cousins dream up! Adding in another little one with a new addition will make this life even more exciting, and we cannot wait to see the love, fun, and adventures that future visits and family time will hold!

Jaxon
Energetic and curious, Jaxon is an absolute blessing who keeps us on our toes with his antics and humor. Loving and kind, Jaxon is an amazing big brother and is already making plans for all the things he and Knox will teach and share with a new baby.
Knox
The friendliest baby, Knox, loves to smile and wave and talk to everyone, making new friends wherever he goes! He and Jaxon are best friends already and love to laugh, play, and have cuddle time! He enjoys his fox pacifier, his lovey, and is always up to share a snack! Most importantly, he is the greatest addition to our family and we cannot wait to see him blossom as a big brother!
ABOUT OUR HOME
Located just on the outskirts of our southern city, our three bedroom, two bath home is filled with fun, memories, and love. As a family, we enjoy snuggling on the couch, shooting hoops in the driveway, and playing on our backyard playset, affectionately known as "the clubhouse." We have amazing neighbors who truly look out for one another, and our cul-de-sac is always filled with kids of all ages, playing, drawing, or just hanging out together. Our neighborhood is home to two parks, each with a newly updated playground with more expansion plans for the future.
We love where we live, but we are planning to design (perks of Mark being an architect) and build our dream home nearby with lots of land and woods for adventuring in the near future!
