About Us

Hi, we are Austin and Hannah and we met the summer of 2019 in the college group at our church. I (Hannah) still remember walking to the patio of the building where Austin was grilling tacos (the location of our proposal a few years later). We both thought the other was cute but neither of us said anything at the time. We became friends and hung out in group settings throughout the summer. Following graduation from college I returned home to WA to stay and at the end of the summer he asked me out and we enjoyed our first date getting some tacos and going to a Mariner’s game! We introduced the topic of adoption early on since we both had a desire to grow our family through adoption. Austin's mom was adopted from Korea and Hannah saw adoption firsthand when her youth pastor adopted when she was younger. We both knew that we desired a partner who had the same passion for adoption.

We are looking forward to growing our family through any of the following adoption opportunities:

Austin's TESTIMONY

I was raised in a Christian home. My parents and loving Christians, as were their parents. I am blessed in this way. We attended a small baptist church in my childhood, and I had so many "adoptive" grandparents, as we were some of the only kids in the church. I heard the gospel often, especially from my mother (who ran Sunday school) and my grandmother (who would guest teach and tell us EVERY time we were at her house). I first made a decision to follow Christ when I was in pre-K with our teacher who became a lifelong family friend, when she read a book about the gospel and asked if any of us wanted to follow Jesus. I knew that Jesus loved me then, and that I needed to follow Him and know that His death was the source of the forgiveness of my sin. My faith grew greatly since then (as I should hope so!) and when I was in middle school, our youth ministry started teaching me how to open the Bible, read a passage, and ask questions (and how to answer those questions) so that I could understand Scripture for myself, not just what was taught to me. This really unlocked the start of growth in my faith, that I learned so much and started to form healthy spiritual habits and disciplines. My next major step came in college, when I began to intern in youth ministry and then eventually worked full time as a youth pastor. Seeing God work in my life and the lives of these students moved me, both spiritually and emotionally. While in this role and attending seminary, I built clear expectations of the role of the church body and family, leaders, and the importance of daily, sacrificial and hopeful living.

Hannah's TESTIMONY

I grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of 8 during a week of VBS (Vacation Bible School). I remember the illustration was a dirty penny being washed clean and becoming shiny and with that it all clicked. While I didn't know a lot about faith and Christianity, I understood the basics that I was a sinner and Christ is the only way in which I can be made new and become that shiny, clean penny. As I grew Jesus became very academic to me since I was also attending a Christian school at the time. I was challenged with a lot of questions yet feeling that Jesus was not active in my life. I wrestled with big questions and my youth counselors and pastors met with me and answered the questions I had. I began to understand that Jesus can be a real, active Father that is present in my life. I learned how to have an active prayer life and began to become honest and vulnerable with Christ. This relationship grew through high school and college and my faith has grown greatly. I was able to have an independent relationship with Jesus and have loved seeing that impact on my life.

Letter to you

Our Christian Commitment

We weekly attend a local church and have loved getting to know both the community and staff. We are newer to the church and have intention to get more involved especially as a family. We both believe in the importance of church involvement and both previously led as youth leaders for middle schoolers for several years. We are involved in a marriage group as well and love meeting biweekly with five other couples who pour into us. Along with this our marriage group has allowed us to grow deeper in Christ. We also strongly believe in surrounding ourselves with a Christ centered community of friends. We love doing life and marriage with faithful friends that surround and support us through lifes ups and downs.

Vision For Raising A Child

Our vision for raising a child in a christian home will consist of role modeling which will include taking our children to church and displaying what it looks like to be invested in a church. We both grew up with parents who modeled this for us by being involved in a food program, children's ministry, and tech and instilled in both of us the same drive to be involved in our church community. As our children grow it’ll continue with reading of the Bible as a family and utilizing books/devotionals that are about Jesus. Prayer will consistently be present in our home and we want to teach our children in the power of prayer and the comfort that prayer provides. We would love to sing songs as well that are centered on Jesus, I (Hannah) have done worship for a large portion of my life and would love to share my love for music with our children. As our kids get older, we hope to encourage them to get involved and to attend their youth group. We want to surround our children with Christ-like influences that can help them grow and learn more about Christ as well.

We bought our lovely home in 2022 just before we got married and have amazing neighbors that consist largely of young families. We are a short drive from one of our favorite places, the zoo! We are big animal lovers and love taking all the littles in our family!

ABOUT OUR WORLD

One of our favorite places to travel to is Disney. I surprised Hannah our first year of marriage with Disneyland passes and since then we were hooked. We frequently travel back to California to enjoy Disneyland and occasionally head over to Florida for DisneyWorld as well. We also love a good Disney cruise! (Plus we’ve visited Disney Paris) Our friends often joke that we could become professional tour guides for Disneyland and I will say we’d do pretty good. P.S. Hannah’s favorite ride is Space Mountain and Austin’s is Radiator Springs Racers
