I was struggling with my faith at 16. I remember meeting up with a friend and being given the advise to talk to God as I would my Dad.
I remember the 30 minuet drive home and looking at the full moon and fully surrendering my life to Him.
My journey has been a long one, and not always easy... but I continue to work on growing my faith through each trial that comes my way.
One of my favorite verses is the one about having faith, the size of a mustard seed. I CAN have that much faith at all times! I currently have a necklace with a mustard seed in it- it is a tangible reminder that I can and do have faith in Him that will not let me down!

Letter to you

Dear Expectant or Birth Mom,

Hello & thank you for taking the time to consider us!

Our names are Jason and Kathryn and we are so very thankful you’re considering adoption for your baby. We have the highest respect for you making this hard, incredible, honoring, and courageous decision. We know this is not a decision you take lightly and that you love this baby (or babies) with all your heart.

Jason and I have been married for over six years and we have wanted to build our family, to have children that can explore the world with us! We love exploring with friends and family, often taking lake trips, Mexico trips & Colorado trips together, babysitting our niece and nephews as often as we can, hanging out with our friends and their families often. We enjoy being at home and working in our yard or playing together and in winter months watching shows, reading or playing board games together.

We have been on a journey to have a baby for the last 5 years and have experienced many losses. During that time we even adopted a set of 7 precious embryos from another couple to try for pregnancy with! Even though we weren’t able to conceive with those embryos, the bio family has been incredibly supportive of us trying to adopt!! Fertility treatments have been hard on my body and we decided to adopt traditionally.

Adoption has always been part of our discussion for adding to our family and something that is very special to us. Jason has always wanted to adopt- even before he met Kathryn! Kathryn was adopted herself, so this option is an exciting new path for her to take! She has been able to have a relationship with her birth mother and siblings born after she was adopted. We are excited and our families are very supportive as well.

Jason works as a crane operator here in town and so he gets to be home in the evenings most often. Because he is local, sometimes I’m able to drive to his worksite to watch him work.

I am a realtor. While going through infertility I have been able to find a niche and do paperwork for other realtors, allowing me to stay home. I also maintain our household, meet up with friends and their kids, babysit and go help other mothers as needed. We plan to continue this way of living, so that when we are blessed with a baby in our home I will be able to give our little one a lot of my attention and time.

We are open to different ethnicities. We would like to make it a point to incorporate their heritage in their growing up years. We hope they will understand a part of the culture they come from and all the unique history and traits from their culture.

Our hope is to have some kind of open relationship with you, to build a relationship that you feel safe and valuable to us. We are very open to emails, sharing pictures often (I have SO many pictures of our niece and nephews on my phone currently!!) and meeting up for visits multiple times a year. While we understand that it takes a while for a relationship to develop naturally, we are hopeful that there will be some kind of communication throughout the process.

We are with our niece and nephews often enough that we have already purchased 2 car seats and they are also excited to someday meet their new cousins!! Psalms 5:11 starts “But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy.” Jason has been known to sing joyfully, while in the car or to his niece and nephews, and at other random times.
